Gluten free dumplings are a great twist on a classic Chinese recipe that is popular all across the world. You may choose to serve your dUMplings steamed, baked or pan fried, but in all cases you should choose the dumplings recipe to suit you. Feel free to be creative with the shape of the dough, serve method and even the colour of the dough. Oh, and just so you know, working with gluten free flour in a way that does not affect your gluten-free diet is slightly different than working with wheat flour.

OK, so here’s how you make dumplings. Start by taking a medium sized mixing bowl set on top of a trivet or microwave safe bowl. Add two cups of water, three tablespoons of Gluten-Free Flour, two and one-half teaspoons of salt, and two and one-half teaspoons of garlic powder. Whisk the water and flours together until smooth and lump-free. Place the mixture into a separate bowl, add in the salt and garlic powder, and beat to combine.

Next add in your choice of filling, which can be anything from ground meat, seafood, poultry, vegetarian, eggplant, shrimp, spinach, cucumber, potato, or corn. If you’re going to include vegetables in your recipe, feel free to replace the milk and eggs with a soy or rice milk substitute and/or a rice gluten free milk substitute, respectively. This will give a few more options when it comes to the dairy free milk that you will use. I prefer the latter as it doesn’t contain trace amounts of hormones that are bad for you and will help me maintain my weight better too.

When your recipe is ready, it’s time to start cooking! Using a spray jar with a measuring cup tap and water at the base, pour your glazed and colored mixture into the cup, making sure to spray all surfaces. Once this is done, it’s now time to start your gluten-free chicken soup recipe!

Starting off with the meat, you should preheat your oven or bring it to around 350 degrees. Thoroughly mix your food with a food processor or blending machine. You want a consistency that is a bit crumbly but not completely wet. When blending, use your largest food processor or blending machine and mix to a smooth paste is formed. This mixture should be slightly thicker than your cake batter. Add your little bit of water and mix until smooth again.

After this, it is time to form your gluten free dumplings. Start by placing a tablespoon of vegetable oil into one pan. Next, add a quarter teaspoon of ground pepper, a quarter teaspoon of garlic, a quarter teaspoon of salt, and a quarter teaspoon of white pepper. Stir these ingredients together until the oil coat is combined and the mixture is lightly cooked. After this, place this in your food processor and process until the mixture becomes very smooth.

Now it is time to work with your gluten free dumplings. Start by cutting your meat and noodles into two pieces. Thoroughly mix them together and then form them into two pieces. Next, cut your noodles into two pieces and add them to your prepared chicken broth. Bring the broth to a boil and then cover your Instant pot with the partially frozen peas and carrots.

In order for your homemade dumplings to seal in their flavor, you need to add some baking powder, some salt, and mix this all together. Once everything has combined, throw in your cooked meats and vegetables. Finally, cover your Instant pot with the lid, and let this cook on low for about 2 hours. Once that is done, you can then remove your Instant pot from the lid and cut your gluten free dumplings into cute little sandwiches!
